Anglia Ruskin University Application 2025/2026

The online application for Anglia Ruskin University for the 2025 academic year is currently open to prospective students who are willing to study with the university. Application dates for Anglia Ruskin University vary depending on the courses an applicant is applying for. The 2025 application deadline for the main majority degree course is in January.  At Anglia Ruskin University, they offer both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Freshmen applicants, international applicants, returning students, transfer and transient students are all invited to apply. To gain admission to the University, applicants are to meet the admission requirements as published by the university. Attach supporting documents including your academic qualifications, English test results, personal statement and passport data page to ARU College (Certified translations must accompany documents that are not in English).

Anglia Ruskin University Application Open Date And Deadline For 2025/2026

The following are the application deadlines as given by the Anglia Ruskin University for applicants applying for the 2025/2026 academic year:

June-September

  • Research is key. Consider which course you want to study and at which university.
  • Strengthen your statement – the summer can be used to secure work experience or attend summer school.
  • Register with UCAS.
  • Ask your school or college when to apply so that you can make a start on your application. Completed applications can be sent to UCAS in mid-September.

16 October

  • The deadline for applications for Cambridge, Oxford or any course in medicine, dentistry or veterinary/medical science should arrive at UCAS by 6 pm.

October-June

  • Attend open days, taster days and applicant days were offered; apply for accommodation and make sure that you request any support that you require.

31 January

  • In 2025 this is the main UCAS deadline for the majority of degree courses. The deadline is 6 pm.

February

  • From February onwards, you can apply for financial support from Student Finance England.

28 February

  • UCAS Extra opens. You can use UCAS Extra if your applications have been unsuccessful or you’ve declined all your offers.

May (dates vary)

  • The deadline for you to respond to any offers you receive before 31 March is usually in early 31 May. The UCAS website will give exact dates. If you don’t respond they will be declined.

16 May

  • If you apply by the January deadline, you will receive all your offers by this date.

20 May

  • Student Finance England’s deadline for applications for financial support from new students.

5 June

  • Deadline for you to respond to your offers if they were received on or before 16 May. This doesn’t include UCAS Extra choices. If you don’t respond they will be declined. This is sometimes known as ‘decline by default’.

Early July

  • BTEC results are published.
  • UCAS publishes its Clearing vacancy list for applicants who have received their results.
  • Any applications made after 30 June will automatically be entered into Clearing.

24 July

  • If you received offers on or before 17 July, you must respond to them by 24 July. This includes UCAS Extra choices. If you don’t respond they will be declined. This is sometimes known as ‘decline by default’.

15 August 2024

  • Results day: the day you secure your place at university.
  • The Clearing and Adjustment systems become fully operational on this date. If you don’t get the grades you expected, work out a plan of action and try to secure an alternative place to study.

August-September

  • Prepare to start university. If you’ll be driving to university, make sure that everything fits in the car!

September-October

  • Clearing ends and universities stop accepting applications.
  • University begins good luck!

Anglia Ruskin University Application Requirements For Undergraduate  Applicants 2025/2026

To be able to join as a first-year student for an undergraduate course, you will need the following requirements:

  • GCE A levels from a recognised UK examination board.
  • An International Baccalaureate with a minimum of 24 points.
  • A university foundation course recognised by Anglia Ruskin University.
  • Relevant qualifications obtained in your home country: see our country-specific entry requirements.
  • For some courses, there may be additional requirements, such as portfolios for art and design courses. These are outlined in our undergraduate course pages.

Note: If you’ve completed study at the university level in the UK or your home country you may be eligible to enter directly into Year 2 or 3 of a related degree course at ARU. Find out more about transferring to ARU.

Anglia Ruskin University Application Requirements For Postgraduate Taught Applicants 2025/2026

For entry into a postgraduate taught course you’ll need one of the following:

  • a UK honours degree with lower second-class honours (2:2)
  • relevant qualifications obtained in your home country, as per Anglia Ruskin’s country-specific entry requirements
  • some courses may have extra requirements, such as portfolios for art and design courses. These are outlined in our postgraduate course pages.

Anglia Ruskin University Application Requirements For Postgraduate Research Applicants 2025/2026

For entry into a postgraduate research course you’ll need one of the following:

  • the usual entry requirement for an MPhil is a UK honours degree in a related subject, with Upper Second Class (2:1) or First Class honours or the equivalent from another country
  • for direct registration for a PhD, you will usually require an appropriate master’s degree from a UK university or the equivalent from another country.

Entry requirements for international students

Undergraduate courses:

If English is not your first language you’ll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you’ll be able to follow your course.

For undergraduate courses, our standard entry criteria for undergraduate courses is IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, with nothing lower than 5.5 in any of the four elements (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Some of our courses may have higher English language proficiency requirements; for details and exceptions regarding IELTS, please visit your course page of choice.

Please note that any student requiring a SELT for a pre-sessional English course must ensure that they take their IELTS at an approved test centre.

We also accept the following English language tests as equivalent to IELTS 6.0 with 5.5 in each element:

  • ETS TOEFL iBT with 80 overall and a minimum of 17 in Writing and Listening, 18 in Reading and 20 in Speaking
  • Pearson PTE with 60 overall and a minimum of 59 in all components.

If you already hold an English language qualification, please send a copy to internationaladmissions@aru.ac.uk. We will advise if we can accept this as an equivalent qualification.

Postgraduate courses:

If English is not your first language you’ll need to be able to show you have the required level of English language. This is so we can ensure you’ll be able to follow your course.

If you’re a UK or EU student with settled/pre-settled status, you can apply for our full-time undergraduate degree courses through UCAS.  Follow the process below as a UK or EU applicant:

  • Visit UCAS to apply
  • From July-September, you can apply directly to the university of your choice by Clearing
  • With most of the courses, Ruskin welcomes applications for entry to years 2 or 3 (transfer)

Anglia Ruskin University Application Process For International Applicants 2025/2026

International students are to follow the below process to apply:

Step 1. Choose A Course:

This is where you choose which course you would like to study:

Step 2.  Submit your application form

Applicants are to find the course they’re interested in and follow the ‘Apply online option. This option is available for undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses. To apply for a research degree please visit our research pages. Make sure that before submitting your application you understand your chosen course entry requirements (academic and English language requirements).

Don’t forget that you’ll need to support your application by providing copies of the following documents, so you need to have them prepared.

  • Qualification certificates and transcripts, including certified translations, where applicable
  • A personal statement. You can download and complete our Personal Statement Form
  • References/recommendation letters
  • Curriculum vitae/resume
  • Passport
  • Current and previous visa(s) (if applicable)
  • Proof of name change (if applicable)
  • Portfolio (if applicable)

Step 3 – Check Your Email Regularly

After you submit your application, you’ll receive a confirmation email. This email will include your ARU Student Identification number (SID), which will be necessary to check your application status at any point. Anglia Ruskin University may contact you to ask you to provide more information or supporting documents before they can decide on your application. Therefore, it’s very important that the contact details on your application form are correct and up to date and that you check your email regularly for correspondence.

Step 4 – Receive The Outcome Decision On Your Application

If the mail you received was positive(gained admission), the university will send you an offer. The applicant needs to take the following tasks:

  • Accepting your offer
  • Meeting your conditions
  • Paying your deposit
  • Issuing your CAS

Step 5 – Start Your Visa Application

  • If you’ve received an offer to study with us, it’s now time to think about your visa and plan your trip to the UK.
  • Student visa applications are currently taking at least three weeks to process, but this could be significantly longer for some countries. We strongly recommend you apply for your student visa as early as possible.

Anglia Ruskin University Postgraduate Application Process 2023/2024

Applying for a postgraduate degree is easy whether you’re new to ARU, or a current undergraduate student who wants to progress to a Master’s.

Applying for a course at ARU:

  • You can apply for postgraduate degree courses online. There’s an application link on each full-time and part-time course page. Once the University receives your application, it can take about up to four weeks to consider it, so it is suggested to apply at least a month before your preferred start date. Qualifications

For most postgraduate courses you’ll need a qualification or experience equivalent to a UK honours degree, usually in a relevant subject area. This varies though, so please check the relevant course page for details.
