Application for admission for September 2025 is currently open! With your most recent transcripts, submit your application in three simple steps for admission as well as scholarships. The admissions process at Mount Allison takes the full person into account and examines your accomplishments both inside and outside of the classroom. For students seeking a Mount Allison undergraduate degree, including domestic and foreign students, transfer students, and mature students.

Depending on the kind of student you are, there are multiple application procedures for Mount Allison. If you’re still in high school or if you’ve graduated from high school but haven’t taken any courses at a college or university and are younger than 22, you should apply for undergraduate admissions as a high school student at Mount Allison University.

For new students applying to Mount Allison for an undergraduate degree, please follow the instructions below. This comprises applicants from a Mount Allison-established pathway program as well as high school students from Canada and abroad, as well as mature and transfer students. Separate applications are available for exchange students, visiting students, returning students, and graduate students.

Starting in October, they begin accepting applications for their rolling admission program. However, your application and all supporting materials must be received by March 1 to be considered for scholarships and bursaries.

Before you apply to Mount Allison University

Applying is easy, but there are a few things you can do ahead of time to make it even easier.

Choose what to study: must specify the Mount Allison degree you want to pursue on your application. Your choices are Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Commerce (BComm), Bachelor of Music (BMus), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), and Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASc).

Additionally, you can state your intended major or, if you’re unsure, just write “undecided.” The major declaration is not required until the conclusion of the second year for students.

English language requirements

Since English is the major language of teaching at Mount Allison, students are required to have a command of the language that allows them to attend lectures, converse effectively, and write assignments and exams in English. If asked, you must provide proof of one of the following:

  • Accepted standardized tests
  • High school (secondary) studies in English
  • Post-secondary studies in English
  • Approved English language programs

Step 1: Submit your application

Creating an account with Mount Allison and completing the online application for admission and scholarships is the first step in the application process. You can start your application, save it, and come back to it whenever you like to finish it before submitting it. Complete your application, submit it, and pay the $50 Canadian application cost using your MtA application account.

Step 2: Submit your supporting documents

High school students

Transcripts are required to check whether you have met the entry requirements if you are a high school student.
Depending on when you apply, submit the following through your MtA application account:

Early admission (Oct.-Jan.)

  • Final Grade 11 transcript
  • Grade 12 course list
  • Mid-year Grade 12 transcript required when available

General admission (Feb.-Aug.)

  • Mid-year Grade 12 transcript
  • Final high school transcript if available

Transfer students

You’re a transfer student if you’ve received a high school diploma and completed any coursework at a college or university.

  • final high school transcripts and your most recent post-secondary transcripts from all universities you have attended.
  • a letter of purpose stating one’s academic and professional objectives and resolving any discrepancies in academic performance (if applicable)

Mature students

If you’re over 22, hold a high school diploma, and haven’t taken any classes at a college or university, you qualify as a mature student. You need to provide transcripts as well as:

  • a letter of intent that outlines your personal and career goals and explains why you want to attend Mount Allison
  • an updated resume noting any relevant educational and professional experience

Step 3: Accept the offer you’ve applied:
