Some courses have a specific deadline for applications. Please read this page carefully for further information. Trying to apply for a free TAFE course? Apply early. Free TAFE courses frequently fill up before the deadline for applications. Also must be noted: Offshore foreign students should consider how long visa processing will take before applying for their desired intake. 

They are highly encouraged to think about applying at least three months before the start of their intake. Semesters 1 and 2 are the appropriate start dates for offshore foreign students. You may find more details regarding the 2025–2026 deadline and how to apply as an international or domestic student below. Even though some of these programs will still take applications after this date, they may end at any time after the official application deadline.

As a result, applicants are asked to do so as soon as possible. It is strongly advised that international students submit their applications by the deadlines recommended for their country or region. Apply as soon as you can for each program to make sure your application is taken into account. As long as there are open positions, applications will be accepted.

Late applications may cause the commencement of the class to be postponed. There are deadlines by which you must submit your application for the following programs:

Before you apply/Swinburne semester 1 dates 2023-2024

• Know the entry requirements for the course you plan to enroll in. Information about courses and studies is available here.
• Have any information about prior coursework or credentials available (e.g. copies of transcripts, certificates, etc.)
• If you are a current or former Swinburne student;
• Your student ID and password are required.
• Login by going to the Swinburne students section if you are already registered.
• You must call us at 1300 368 777 if you don’t know your student ID (Mon – Fri, 8 am – 5 pm)
• You can reset your password here if you know your student ID but don’t remember it.
• If you are a new applicant to Swinburne;
• To begin the process if you haven’t already, click Register and Apply.
• Use the Already registered or current user form if you have already registered.
• Use the username and password from your registration email to sign in to the Swinburne student section again.
• If you are unable to locate your username, you must call us at 1300 368 777. (Mon – Fri, 8am – 5pm) You can change your password here if you’ve forgotten it.

What happens following the online application submission/Swinburne semester 1 dates 2023-2024

• Once your application has been submitted successfully, you will receive a confirmation email.
• By logging back in through the Already registered or current Swinburne student option, you can check the status of your application at any moment.
• Your application will be evaluated by Swinburne, and you will be informed of the results.
