Students must submit their whole application by the dates, including the application, the application fee, and any necessary supporting documentation.

A wide range of undergraduate options is available to international students at CMU, including three and four-year Bachelor of Arts (BA) degrees with a choice of 19 majors, as well as bachelor degrees in Music (BMus), Music Therapy (BMT), Business Administration (BBA), and Science (BSc). In addition, CMU offers a Master of Divinity, a Master of Arts in Theological Studies, and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry. It also offers a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Peacebuilding and Collaborative Development.

Canadian Mennonite Important Deadlines for Canadian and US Students

All new applications should be completed and received by: the Canadian Mennonite University ranking

  • March 31 for the Spring/Summer Semester
  • May 30 for the Fall Semester
  • August 30 for the Winter Semester
  • If you have missed a deadline, contact Graduate Studies Admissions.

Deadline for International Students
Due to study permit processing times taking between 10-15 weeks, completed applications must be received by

  • March 30 for the Fall Semester
  • June 30 for the Winter Semester
  • January 31 for the Spring Session (CSOP)

Canadian Mennonite University Admission Requirements: Canadian Students-Manitoba

All applicants who meet the university’s academic entrance requirements are accepted at Canadian Mennonite University, regardless of their racial, ethnic, or national origin, religious affiliation, gender identity or sexual orientation, social or economic standing, or political affiliation.
CMU is dedicated to building a learning community characterized by warm hospitality for everyone and recognizes the dignity of every person as an expression of God’s love.

Following the submission of an application and a recent transcript with a list of the classes presently being taken, CMU will review the materials for conditional admission. They need to be submitted through the application portal (received upon application). Final paper transcripts (originals) from the student or electronic records sent from the school after the academic year is over are required for full admission. (For high school students, the completion of Grade 12 would be in June.)

  • Five full senior 40-level courses including One or more English 40-level courses from List 1, one or more courses from List 2, and up to three courses from List 1, 2, or 3. English 40-level courses must have a minimum grade of 60%.
  • A minimum average of 70% is required in three courses that meet the following criteria: English 40S with a minimum grade of 60% from List 1, one 40-level course from List 2, and one 40-level course from Lists 1,2, or 3.

Alberta
Five 30-level academic courses

Average: 60% or higher in each subject

Course Requirements: English 30-1

British Columbia
Four Grade 12 academic courses

Average: 70% overall average, with no grade less than 60%

Course Requirements: English 12 or English 12 First Peoples, minimum 65%

New Brunswick
Five grade 12 courses at the 120-, 121-, or 122- level

Average: 65% overall average with no grade less than 60%

Course Requirements: English 122 minimum 60%

Newfoundland and Labrador
Ten 3000-level academic credits

Average: 70% or higher overall average and no grade less than 60%/ Canadian Mennonite university IELTS requirement

Course Requirements: English Language 3201 minimum 60%

Nova Scotia
Five academic or advanced grade 12 courses

Average: 70% or higher overall average

Course Requirements: English (academic or advanced) minimum 65%

Northwest Territories
Five 30-level academic courses

Average: 60% or higher in each subject

Course Requirements: English 30-1 minimum 60%

Nunavut
Five 30-level academic courses

Average: 60% or higher in each subject

Ontario
Six 4U or 4M courses

Average: 70% overall average, with no grade less than 60%/ Canadian Mennonite university IELTS requirement

Course Requirements: English 4U minimum 65%

Prince Edward Island
Five grade 12 academic courses

Average: 65% overall average

Course Requirements: English minimum 65%

Quebec
First-year CEGEP with 12 academic credits or Quebec Senior High School Leaving Certificate
with six subjects

Average: 65% or higher

Course Requirements: Two English 603 courses minimum 65%

Saskatchewan
Five 30-level academic courses

Average: 65% overall average with no grade less than 60%

Course Requirements: English A30 and B30 minimum 65%

Yukon Territory
Four Grade 12 academic courses

Average: 70% average, with no grade less than 60%

Course Requirements: English 12 or English 12 First Peoples, minimum 65%

STEP 1: Fill out an application Students

Now accepting applications for the fall of 2025! There is no application fee till November 30. After November 30th, there is a cost of $80. Applications are still being accepted for Winter 2025. An $80 non-refundable application fee is needed.

International Students

The application period is officially open for fall 2025! For consideration for admission to the fall of 2025, apply by May 1, 2024. For more information about attending CMU, please visit the foreign student’s webpages. For all-year-round overseas applications, a $150 nonrefundable application fee is required. For students who are already in Canada and have study permission, applications for Winter 2025 will be accepted up until November 1, 2024.

STEP 2: Check your application portal often for required items and decision letters.

  • An unofficial transcript can be uploaded to your application portal as part of your submission.
  • For final admission, authentic, official transcripts must be submitted directly from the institution (or mailed or delivered in person).

STEP 3: Apply for financial aid and awards

Nearly 400 scholarships and bursaries are available to students at CMU. Be careful to apply since more than 50% of CMU students got scholarships or bursaries in 2019–20. The deadline for scholarship applications is February 28. The deadline for submitting a bursary application is May 31 (for overseas students); and July 20 (for domestic students).
