LSU Academic Calendar Fall Semester 2025

• Welcome Week at LSU To Be Determined
• LSU Fall Semester 2025 Classes Begin August 25, 2025
• LSU Fall Semester 2025 Final date for dropping courses without receiving a grade of a “W” is September 3, 2025, at 4:30 pm
• LSU Fall Semester 2025 Final date for adding courses for credit and making section changes. The final date to petition deans’ offices to invoke the Grade Exclusion Policy is September 4, 4:30 pm
• Labor Day Holiday at LSU begins September 1, 2025
• Fall Holiday *Tentative* at LSU begins October 16 – 17 2025
• LSU Fall Semester 2025 Mid-semester grades are due October 21 at 9:00 am
• LSU Course scheduling for the spring semester and summer term is October 19, 2025, at 5:00 pm *Tentative*
• LSU Fall Semester 2025 Final date for dropping courses. Final date for resigning from the University. The final date to request rescheduling a final examination when three examinations are scheduled in 24 hours is November 7 2025 at 4:30 pm
• Thanksgiving Holiday at LSU begins November 26 – 28 November at 12:30 pm
• December 3, Graded coursework (including but not limited to tests, exams, and quizzes) is not permitted during the concentrated study period. Exceptions to this policy include laboratory courses; graduate and professional courses; presentations, papers and projects identified on the syllabus on the first day of class; and participation. During this time, no extracurricular student activities, such as social and athletic events, will be held on or off campus.

• LSU Fall Semester 2025 Final Examinations begin December 8 – 13 2025
• Final grades due (degree candidate) for LSU Fall Semester 2025 are on December 16 at 9:00 am

• Commencement Day for LSU Fall Semester 2025 starts December 19, 2025

• LSU Winter Session 2025 Classes Begin December 15, 2025
• LSU Winter Session 2025 Final date for dropping courses without receiving a grade of a “W” is December 15, 4:30 pm
• Final date for adding courses for credit and making section changes. The final date to petition deans’ offices to invoke the Grade Exclusion Policy for LSU Winter Session 2025 is December 16, 4:30 pm
• Winter Holiday for LSU Winter Session 2025 begins December 24, 2025

• Martin Luther King Day Holiday at LSU is January 19, 2026
• LSU Spring Semester 2026 Classes Begin on January 12, 2026/LSU calendar spring 2025
• The final date for dropping courses without receiving a grade of a “W” for LSU Spring Semester 2026 is January 21, 4:30 pm
• Final date for adding courses for credit and making section changes. The final date to petition deans’ offices to invoke the Grade Exclusion Policy for LSU Spring Semester 2026 is January 22, 4:30 pm
• The Mardi Gras Holiday starts February 16 – 18. Classes resume at 12:30 pm on February 18, 2026
• Spring Break *Tentative* for LSU Spring Semester 2026 begins March 9 – 13, 2026
• LSU Spring Semester 2026 Mid-semester grades are due March 6, at 9:00 am
• Good Friday Holiday at LSU is on April 3, 2026

• LSU Summer Sessions 2025 Classes Begin May 27,  2025
• LSU Summer Sessions 2025 Final date for dropping courses without receiving a grade of a “W” is May 29, 4:30 pm
• Final date for adding courses for credit and making section changes. The final date to petition deans’ offices to invoke the Grade Exclusion Policy for LSU Summer Sessions 2025 is May 30, 4:30 pm
• LSU Summer Sessions 2025 Mid-semester grades are due June 12, 9:00 am
• Juneteenth – No Classes held at LSU on June 19, 2025
• Final date for dropping courses. The final date for resigning from the University for LSU Summer Sessions 2025 starts June 20, 4:30 pm
• LSU Summer Sessions 2025 Final classes and final examinations were held on June 28 & 30, 2025

• Final date for dropping courses. The final date for resigning from the University is on July 31, 4:30 pm
