The online application window for the 2025/2026 academic year at The Arts University Bournemouth is currently open to prospective students to apply for admission to study in any of their undergraduate and postgraduate courses that are offered. No matter your location, whether you are a UK or EU applicant, international applicant, transfer student, or transient student, you will gain admission into the university provided you meet the admission requirements. With an acceptance rate of 37 percent, The Arts University Bournemouth does not discriminate. No matter your color, country of origin, or family background, Bolton University has wisely opened its arms to welcome you.
The Arts University Bournemouth is among the few institutions that don’t provide data on acceptance rates. This is because the university has programs aligned where an applicant only needs to meet admission requirements as demanded by the institution to enroll and doesn’t necessarily don’t have to compete with others.
The University accepts applications from students from all backgrounds. It assesses every applicant on their merit following the Student Admissions Policy and the criteria outlined for each specific course. For most undergraduate courses, The Arts University Bournemouth accepts UCAS points from subjects such as General Studies and Critical Thinking at A2-level/AS level. They also accept up to 16 points from Key Skills at levels 3 and 4, the Free-Standing Mathematics qualifications, or Higher Sports Leaders Awards. You can also combine points from different qualifications if they’re not in the same subject.
For many courses, you’ll also need to have five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, or equivalent. These may include specific subjects such as English and Maths. For some courses, you’ll need to attend an interview, audition, or other assessments. The University may ask you to provide samples of your work. Before enrolling in a professional course, you may also need to meet some non-academic entry requirements, such as occupational health assessments.

Applying For Undergraduate Courses Using UCAS:
Step 1: Applying Through UCAS
- AUB will use your completed UCAS form to make decisions about your application. Make sure you include all of the qualifications that you have and are currently taking. You can also tell about any work experience that you’ve done.
- In your statement, AUB would like to know more about why you’re interested in the course, the key influences on your work and what you hope to do after your studies. There’s more advice in our personal statement guide.
- If you’re unsure how to apply via UCAS. Please use the contact information at admissions@aub.ac.uk.
Step 2: Track Your Application
- You can track the status of all your applications via UCAS Hub.
- Once AUB receives your application, they will send you an email with your login details for the AUB Applicant Portal.
- You can use this to monitor the progress of your application to AUB. They might contact you for more information, so keep checking your inbox for messages.
Step 3: Interviews, Portfolios, and Applicant Days
- Applicants for some of the courses will be required to attend an on-campus interview and further details about this will be provided by Admissions if your application is selected for an interview. Similarly, some of the courses will be holding on-campus auditions and again, you’ll be provided more information about this if you have been selected for an audition.
Step 4: Accepting Your Offer
- Once the university has made a decision, they’ll update you via UCAS Track and the AUB applicant portal. AUB should be able to tell you about their decision within 10 working days. You will be notified if there’s any delay.
- Once you’ve heard from all of the universities, you’ll receive an email or a letter from UCAS, asking you to respond to your offers.
- You’ll be able to go to the UCAS Hub to accept the offer you’d like to take up.
- If you change your mind after you accept your offer, you can cancel your acceptance within the cancellation period of 14 days.
- UCAS will let you know the deadline to do this. If you miss this, UCAS will decline the offer on your behalf. If this happens, you’ll need to contact our Admissions team and UCAS ASAP.
Step 5: Getting Your Results
- You must meet the conditions of your offer by 31 August to be able to take up your place even if your offer is for deferred entry.
- AUB receives most exam results electronically from UCAS. If your qualification is not listed by UCAS, or you’re taking an IELTS or overseas qualification, you’ll need to send your results.
- If you applied directly, you’ll also need to send your results by email.
- AUB will need to see a scan or a photocopy of your official results slip to confirm your place.
- If you haven’t quite met the conditions of your offer, we’ll still consider you and we may still be able to confirm your place.
Step 6: Coming To AUB
- Once your place is confirmed, AUB will send you a confirmation letter and a link to the Welcome Guide for your course.
