The semester system used at the University of Connecticut normally lasts between 14 and 16 weeks. All students must earn at least 120 credits to graduate from the University of Connecticut. • Labor Day – No classes on Monday, September 2, 2024
• Uconn Fall 2024 Last day to file petitions for course credit by examination (Undergraduate students only)Tuesday, September 3, 2024
• Uconn Fall 2025 Courses dropped after this date will have a “W” for withdrawal recorded on the academic record. The last day to add or drop courses without additional signatures is Monday, September 9, 2024
• Uconn Fall 2024 Last day for students to make up Incomplete or Absence grades (Undergraduate students only)Monday, September 16, 2024

• Uconn Fall 2024 Last day to withdraw from a course. The last day to place courses on or remove from Pass/Fail grading begins Monday, November 11, 2024
• Thanksgiving Recess for Uconn Fall 2024 is on Sunday, November 24-Saturday, November 30, 2024
• Uconn Fall 2024 Last day for master’s and Doctoral degree candidates to upload their final thesis and dissertation to Submittable and submit related paperwork to Degree Audit (degreeaudit@uconn.edu) for conferral of a Fall 2024 degree. It is recommended that students defend themselves at least two weeks before this deadline to allow for revisions. The doctoral dissertation defense must be announced two weeks before defending. Plan A Master’s students are not required to announce their defense on  Friday, November 29, 2024
