University College Birmingham Postgraduate Application Deadline 2025/2026
The University College of Birmingham has opened its applications for the 2025/2026 academic year for postgraduate programs. Applicants willing to study in the spring term for 2025 must begin their application as early as possible to meet the deadline. The spring term is open from January – March 2025. The applications are open for both instate and international applicants provided you meet the admission requirements.
To apply for all postgraduate degrees, you will need to sit an approved test in English if it is not your first language. This might include achieving an IELTS (Academic or UKVI) of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band, depending on your course requirements. In addition, UCB accepts the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 72 with minimum band scores of Reading 18, Writing 17, Listening 17, and Speaking 20 for Undergraduate (BA, BSc) and most postgraduate degrees.
Studying at the University College of Birmingham is more affordable than at other universities and state community colleges. International Students studying undergraduate courses in FdA, FdSc, BA, and BSc are to pay an annual fee of £13,500 (per year). University College Birmingham Postgraduate Application Requirements 2025/2026
English language entry requirements:
To apply for all undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, you will need to sit an approved test in English if it is not your first language. This might include achieving an IELTS (Academic or UKVI) of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in any band, depending on your course requirements. In addition, UCB accepts the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 72 with minimum band scores of Reading 18, Writing 17, Listening 17, and Speaking 20 for Undergraduate (BA, BSc) and most postgraduate degrees.
- If you are applying for the International Foundation Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism, you will need a UKVI IELTS of 5.0 with no less than 4.5 in any band.
- IELTS can be taken from the British Council. Please note that the date of your IELTS award must be within two years of your degree/master’s degree start date.
UCB also accepts the following online tests for entry into degree-level courses:
- TOEFL (iBT) Home – minimum scores as above
- Language Cert – a minimum of ‘pass’ at B2 level
- IELTS Indicator – minimum scores as above

University College Birmingham Postgraduate Application Process 2025/2026
New applicants applying for postgraduate courses at the University College Of Birmingham are to follow the following process to apply:
Step 1: Complete Your Online Registration:
If you have been offered a place at University College Birmingham, you will be sent an email and text message from our Admissions team to complete your online registration. You must complete your online registration, as this is the first part of your enrolment. If you have signed up to UCBconnect or studied with us before you may already be able to log in to the UCB Portal, otherwise you will need to set up your student account.
The email you receive will provide you with your unique link to do this if needed, and the text message will contain your UCB Student ID which you will need to register.
Application Deadline
How to complete online registration?
Once you have completed your online registration, you have created your student dashboard. Now you need to log out and log back in, to upload your documents. Make sure you upload ALL documents that are relevant to you, including:
- your chosen photo for ID (no Snapchat filters, please, let’s keep it professional!)
- your proof of ID – see below for the list of acceptable identity documents
- and any residence evidence – e.g. your passport/residence documents, if relevant
- scans/clear photos of results of qualifications you already hold (e.g. GCSEs in English and Maths)
- any evidence of your name change, if your name is now different from the name on the documentation you provide to us, e.g. deed poll document or marriage certificate. All the systems will use the name on your official documentation.
Step 2: Upload Your Results:
When you receive your results, you will need to upload them to your student dashboard. You will need your student ID and password created in Step 1 to log in. Once you have logged in, please navigate to the course applications section of your dashboard and select ‘’upload image. As soon as your image has been uploaded, it will automatically be saved.
A few things to note:
- Do not email us your results. If you are having trouble uploading your results, don’t worry, our Admissions team will call you to help you with this process.
- Even if you haven’t achieved the results you were hoping for, please still upload them so we can see if there is another course in our portfolio that we can offer you.

Once UCB has checked your results, they will call you to confirm your place on the course or offer you an alternative if you haven’t met the conditions of the offer. If you are a UK student enrolling on a standard-length Foundation Degree or a BA/BSc at University College Birmingham, your fee for this academic year will be £9,250. A half-year tuition fee is £4,625. There will be no change to this tuition fee for the forthcoming two academic years.
