Unisa Online Application 2025 Undergraduate Opening date
Online application for admission to Unisa undergraduate qualifications for the 2025 academic year to be open from 21 August to 11 October 2024. Applicant willing to study at Unisa for the 2025 academic year must apply for admission via www.unisa.ac.za online application portal. Pay the online application fee of R140.00 once you have received a student number from Unisa.
This fee is non-refundable even if you decide not to study through Unisa, do not qualify for admission to Unisa or cannot be offered a space due to limited spaces available. The due date for the application fee is the closing date for the application period. Any application submitted without an application fee paid on time will not be processed. Please ensure that you keep a copy of your proof of payment.
All those wanting to commence a new programme at Unisa must apply for admission in 2025. This includes the following:
- first-time Unisa applicants.
- Unisa students who are changing to a new qualification and/or specialisation.
- Applicants who applied for admission earlier on and were not offered a space
- Applicants who were offered a space, accepted the offer and did not register.
- Unisa Students completing a higher certificate or any other programme and who wish to continue with further undergraduate studies.
All applications for admission must be submitted during the prescribed application period. Applicants who are also planning to enrol for classes at a TVET college under the Unisa-TVET agreement can apply via the relevant TVET college or online through Unisa.
2025 Undergraduate Application Process at Unisa
- You have to apply for a maximum of two qualifications, ranked in order of preference
- You will be notify by Unisa of the status of your application. If it was successful, Unisa will let you know the qualification they have given you and will offer you a space for the 2025 first 1 semester.
- You must accept or reject Unisa offer within the time they have given you. In case you miss this deadline, Unisa will withdraw the offer and give your space to another applicant.
- Your offer will be retracted and you will forfeit your space if you don’t accept the offer within the prescribed period of time (10 working days)
- All First-time applicants to Unisa will be required to complete the First-Year Experience MOOC (massive open online course) before being able to accept Unisa’s offer.
- You have only one offer to accept. This means that when you accept an offer for one qualification (irrespective of whether it is your first or second qualification of choice), the other offer will automatically fall away.
- You must register for the period for which you have been granted admission if you accept Unisa’s offer.
- If you’re not able to register for the relevant semester of study, you will need to re-apply for admission in 2026 academic period.
Documents Needed for Unisa Undergraduate Online Application 2025
All applicants starting a new qualification must upload all the required documents, which generally consists of the following:
- Copy of your school qualifications (eg Senior Certificate, National Senior Certificate)
- Copy of your official tertiary academic record(s) (if applicable) (internet copies will not be accepted)
- Copy of your ID document (RSA students) or ID/passport (international students)
- Copy of your marriage certificate (if applicable) or divorce decree (if applicable)
- Sworn translations of documents if they are not in English or Afrikaans
The due date for uploading the required documents is the closing date for applications. No documents submitted after the closing date for applications will be accepted. Unisa does not provide scanners or electronic devices. Please ensure that your documents are scanned and uploaded to an electronic device before starting the application process.
