If you are a prospective applicant, it will be very essential to know the application deadline. Application deadlines are the final dates given by the admission board of Abertay University when applicants are to submit their applications for the 2025-2026 academic year. The application deadline for Abertay University for 2025 may vary depending on the kind of program an applicant is applying for.
Currently, the general application date for the 2025 academic year is open from September, and the deadline for application for the 2025 study year is 31 January. After that the University of Abertay admission board receives your application, it goes through an assessment process, and then the status of your application will be mailed to you via the email address you provided during the application process.
Abertay University Application Deadline For Undergraduate Studies 2025-2026
The following are the important dates for undergraduate application 2025, registrations, visit dates and all others:
- September – Applications are open. You can now apply. To do this, select the ‘Apply’ link for the course you’ve chosen. This is at the top of each of the undergraduate course pages.
- October – Open days. Come along to see what it’s like to be a student here at Abertay. Open days are for anyone who is thinking of applying. Plus check our always-online open-day section to make a virtual visit anytime.
- 31 January – Application deadline. All applications need to be sent in by midnight.
- End February – All offers/rejections made. If you apply earlier, the university will give you an offer earlier, but this is the last date. Check your UCAS Hub.
- March – Applicant Visit Days for offer holders. Visit us virtually to find out more about the course you’ve applied for.
- May – UCAS registration for potential students. You can register for a UCAS Hub account, and start drafting your application, but can’t apply until September.
- May – Offer deadline for offer holders. Accept or reject your offer in your UCAS Hub account.
- 30 June – Late applications. The last date you can apply.
- August – Results day/Clearing. We get your results automatically, so check your UCAS Hub account.

Abertay University Entry Requirements 2025
The minimum entry requirement is an Upper Second Class Honours degree (or equivalent) at the undergraduate level in an appropriate discipline and/or a Master’s degree. In some cases, appropriate professional or experiential learning may be considered in combination with a lower classification of an Honours degree.
English language requirements
We accept an undergraduate or postgraduate degree that has been taught and assessed in a majority English-speaking country, as defined by UK Visas and Immigration:
For candidates whose first language is not English or whose undergraduate/Master’s degree was not awarded from a University from a UKVI designated English Speaking country, you are required to show evidence of one of the following qualifications:
- IELTS Academic: total 6.5 with at least 6.0 in each component.
- TOEFL-iBT (including Home Edition): total 92 with at least 20 in each component. We do not accept TOEFL “My Best Score” to meet our English language requirements.
- CAE and CPE: total 176 with at least 169 in each component.
- Trinity ISE: ISE II with distinctions in all four components.
- PTE Academic: 62 overall with at least 59 in each component.
- NECO English at B (4)
- WAEC English at B (4)
If you are not a national of a majority English-speaking country, then your degree must be no more than three and a half years old at the beginning of your programme of study unless you are using IELTS, TOEFL, Trinity ISE or PTE, in which case it must be no more than two years old.
How to Apply To Abertay University 2025-2026 For Postgraduate Research
Abertay offers three entry dates for research study – October, February and June of each year. Unless otherwise stated, deadlines for submitting a full application are:
- Applications for October entry by August (if you need a Student Visa then the deadline is 31 July)
- Applications for February entry by December (if you need a Student Visa then the deadline is 30 November)
- Applications for June entry by April (if you need a Student Visa visa then the deadline is 31 March)
An applicant can apply to defer from one entry point to another on one occasion; however, subsequent requests must be supported by an additional full application.

The official deadline for applying for an undergraduate degree course is 31 January 2025. Abertay University may accept applications from international students after the 26 January deadline. However, Abertay encourages you to apply sooner as you’ll need time to arrange your visa and accommodation.
