The Arts University Bournemouth Postgraduate Application 2025/2026
Applications for postgraduate courses at the Arts University Bournemouth are open for January 2025 and September 2024 entries. You can apply for any of the postgraduate and research courses using the institution’s online application form. Applicants are encouraged to apply early so that they have time to organize accommodation and arrange for a visa (if required) before they enroll.
An MA or postgraduate degree is a chance for every student to build on their achievements and study at an advanced level. The MAs will deepen your understanding of a subject; giving you the chance to critically approach your work and hone your practice. AUB encourages applications from students with a broad range of qualifications and also welcomes students from all educational backgrounds. Arts University Bournemouth will take into account the knowledge and skills that applicants(students) developed outside the classroom as well as their previous qualifications.
UK Applicants are to have a BA (Hons) Degree graded at 2.1 or above, or an equivalent UK or international qualification in the chosen subject or a related discipline whereas international students need English Language qualifications, including qualifications for MA and Master of Architecture (MArch) courses.

The Arts University Bournemouth Postgraduate Application Requirements 2025/2026
Arts University Bournemouth encourages applications from students with a broad range of qualifications and they welcome students from all educational backgrounds. The University will take into account the knowledge and skills that you’ve developed outside the classroom as well as your previous qualifications. Below are the entry requirements for postgraduate courses:
UK Applicants:
- You’ll usually have BA (Hons) Degree graded at 2.1 or above, or an equivalent UK or international qualification in your chosen subject or a related discipline.
Postgraduate International Applicants:
For international applicants, AUB accepts a range of English Language qualifications, including the following qualifications for MA and Master of Architecture (MArch) courses:
- Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) grade C
- Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) grade C
- Certificate of Attainment in English (London Board) level 5 or 6
- IELTS score of 6.5 or above
- Pearson PTE score of 62 and over, with a score of 51 in each component.
- IELTS, Pearson, and TOEFL scores must be less than two years old at the time the course commences to be valid.
AUB may also accept TOEFL iBT scores of 80 or above for entry to degree courses; however, we’d prefer one of the above qualifications. TOEFL is a test of American English and is not classified as a Secure English Language Test (SELT) for Tier 4 Visa applicants.
Alternative Qualifications/Experience:
- Applicants with other than the required academic qualifications will be considered for entry if there is sufficient evidence to indicate that they have the potential to fulfill the objectives of the course of study and to achieve the standard of the final award.
- Applications are also welcomed from those with other qualifications or with work experience that demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills to study at the postgraduate level.
Note: Please note that AUB doesn’t request information about criminal records from its applicants.

Step 2: Track Your Application:
- When AUB receives your application, they’ll send you an email that includes your login details for the AUB applicant portal. You can use this to monitor the progress of your application.
Step 3: Accepting Your Offer:
- You can view and accept your offer via the AUB Applicant Portal. The university will ask you to respond as soon as you can and they’ll expect a reply before the end of the Summer Term.
- If your offer is conditional, you can accept it before you meet any conditions. They’ll then be in regular contact by email and the AUB applicant portal to give you information about accommodation, your visa application (if applicable), and your arrival.
