Ukrainian students are encouraged to submit applications to the University of Winnipeg’s Faculty of Graduate Studies for the 2025–2026 academic year. The University of Winnipeg will not charge applicants from Ukraine the $120 application cost, making it a little bit easier for you to pursue your goals of attending. They welcome your inquiries concerning student funding and their English language requirement because each student’s circumstances are unique. This page contains details on funding options for graduate students.

Things To Know Before Applying to the University of Winnipeg
You’ve gone over everything and are prepared to apply now. Great! The online application is really simple to use and won’t take you very long to finish. Before you begin, make sure that:
- you meet admission requirements
- You have completed all of the prerequisite courses from high school needed for the degree you want to pursue.
- You’ve decided on a faculty and a major, and whether you want to begin in the fall (September), the winter (January), or the spring (May).
If you are a high school student in Manitoba, have this information ready:
- your Manitoba Education and Training (MET) identification code. You’ll find this in your high school.
- a list of the Grade 12 classes you have taken or are presently taking, together with your marks. For self-reporting your grades, you will require this.
Note: Students should always use the online application to submit their admissions applications.

University of Winnipeg Application Deadlines
They advise students to apply at least three to four months before the Start Term they want. Fall (September), Winter (January), or Spring are all viable starting dates (May). Canadian citizens, Permanent Residents, and Refugees: For the faculties of arts, business and economics, kinesiology, and science, the suggested application deadlines are as follows:

Spring (May) March 1
NOTE: Some Applied/Joint Programs and all high school applicants who are pursuing Canadian curriculum abroad must submit their applications by March 1st (both international and Canadian students).
International applicants: To give enough time for processing, they advise applying as early as possible for admission and visa or study permit applications. Deadlines are:
Fall (September) May 1
Winter (January) September 15
Spring (May) February 1
The University of Winnipeg Supporting Documents-Domestic applicants
Transcripts: Only official transcripts from the high school, college, or institution you attended are accepted. You must ask the institution(s) for your transcript(s) and mail them to the admissions office yourself or request that they send them there on your behalf. See the addresses below. Photocopies are not accepted here. Students currently enrolled in high school in Manitoba: If you apply before June 1 they will ask your high school for your final grades on your behalf. You are not required to ask your school for anything.
Other documents: Name change documents, proof of citizenship, landing cards, and diplomas can be scanned and uploaded to the Application Portal, or submitted via mail (see address below).

Transcripts: Only official transcripts from the high school, college, or institution you attended are accepted. You must request your transcripts from the relevant institution(s) and have them sent directly to their Admissions Office via email using the official institution email address intladmissions@uwinnipeg.ca. Alternatively, you could mail your transcript to the Admissions Office if your institution is unable to send it electronically (see the address below).

There is a non-refundable application fee required when you apply. This fee must be received by the University before we can start assessing your application.

After submitting your application, you can use the Application Portal to pay the application cost online with a credit card. Alternatively, Canadian applicants can mail a check or money order made out to The University of Winnipeg to pay their tuition later.
Admissions Requirements to the University of Winnipeg

High School (Manitoba)
You are a current high school student studying at a school in the Province of Manitoba and expect to graduate from grade 12. Students from Manitoba high schools can self-report their grade 12 marks on the application.
High School (Out-of-Province)
You currently attend a high school in another Canadian province and plan to complete grade 12 this year (or equivalent).
