Applications for postgraduate courses at the University of Birmingham are done directly to the institution by using the postgraduate course finder. Applicants are to create a unique with the University and submit their application and supporting documents online. For entry in September 2024, the application deadline for most courses is January 2025; Medicine and Dentistry’s deadline is October 2024.

For undergraduate students, the summer vacation starts on 28 June 2027. (The Supplementary Assessment Period is usually scheduled within this break.)
For taught postgraduate students, the summer research period also begins on 28 June 2027. (This period is generally dedicated to working on the Dissertation or Project. Full-time taught postgraduate programmes usually span 12 months.)

If you receive a Conditional Offer, it means more information is required before your place is confirmed. This might include your final degree certificate, English language results, or a reference. The exact details will be outlined in your offer letter. Upload the documents to your portal as soon as possible to keep things moving.

International students may be asked to pay a £3,000 deposit to secure their place. This payment must be made before the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) can be issued.
