University of Birmingham Undergraduate Courses Application 2025/2026

All undergraduate courses offered at Birmingham are applied online through UCAS. UCAS stands for Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, it is an independent charity and the UK’s shared admissions service for higher education. About 350 undergraduate programmes are available at the University of Birmingham.

These courses cover topics in engineering, the social sciences, law, medicine, and dentistry. Students must fulfil both programme entry requirements and country-specific requirements to be admitted to one of these UG courses. Additionally, candidates must be at least 17 years old when the programme starts.

Offers will be made based on predicted grades from Year 12, and for some particularly competitive courses, and the university will look at the GCSE results. Your application is specifically designed for the programme you choose to apply for and it is sensitive to the answers you provide as you proceed through the application.

If there’s an area of study an applicant loves whether it’s engineering, languages, sport or art-based an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) gives them the chance to develop their skills and knowledge and impress universities at the same time. The University of Birmingham recognises the EPQ as valuable proof of your capacity for independent learning, as well as your passion for the subject you want to study at a higher level. So when we see it on your UCAS application, it shows us that you’re serious.
