The deadlines for various application procedures can vary. Check the opening and closing dates of applications submitted through a Tertiary Admissions Center on the TAC websites at either: UNE dates 2023-2024
Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) or Universities Admissions Centre (UAC). The following lists the important application deadlines for domestic students applying directly to UNE. At UNE, the academic year is split into three trimesters. As a general rule, Trimester 1 (February–June) applications must be filed by the end of November of the preceding year, and Trimester 2 (June–October) applications must be submitted by the end of May.
Wherever possible, late applications will be taken into account. Beginning students can enroll in a variety of undergraduate and graduate academic programs in either Trimester 1 or Trimester 2. In Trimester 3, only a very small number of courses are available to new on-campus students.

Trimester 3 – 2022 Application Dates
Applications are now being accepted for the third trimester of 2022. Coursework for Trimester 3 begins on Monday, October 24, 2022. The ultimate closure date is October 25, 2022, and the on-time closing deadline for domestic students applying to UNE for the majority of courses is October 14, 2022.

- Bachelor of Education (Secondary Music) – 5 October 2022

- Master of Business Administration (Data and Cyber Management) – 17 October 2022

- Non-Award study – 21 October 2022

Trimester 1 – 2023 Application Dates
Applications are now being accepted for the first trimester of 2023. Coursework for Trimester 1 begins on Monday, February 27, 2023. For most courses, the final closing date is February 28, 2023, while the on-time closing date for domestic students applying to UNE is February 17, 2023.

Courses with early closing dates for Trimester 1 include the following:
- Diploma in Music – 8 February 2023
- Diploma in Music Technology – 8 February 2023
- Bachelor of Education (In-Service Conversion) (Music Major Only) – 8 February 2023
- Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine:
- UCAT registrations close by 17 May 2022; and
- Applications to the University of Newcastle and the Universities Admissions Center for the course close by 30 September 2022.

Bachelor of Nursing: - Online direct to UNE: apply, or change the preference, by Thursday 22 December 2022; or
- UAC Central applicants: apply by 10 November 2022, and change preference by 16 December 2022 (the last Offer Round will be on 22 December 2022).
- QTAC: apply by 8 December 2022, change preference by 19 December 2022 (the last Offer Round will be on 22 December 2022)
