UP Online Application 2026-2027: The University of Pretoria www.up.ac.za Online Application 2026
The University of Pretoria, UP Online Application 2025-2026 Academic year opens from 3 April 2025 to 30 June 2025 for all selection programmes. The University of Pretoria (UP), therefore invites prospective applicants who want to study undergraduate or postgraduate programmes to submit an online application via the www.up.ac.za online application 2025 form portal before the closing date or deadline. UP may not accept late applications for 2025, so apply as soon as possible.
Applications for non-selection programmes for 2025 have no set closing date. Admission will be based on the availability of places. When the available number of places for a specific programme has been filled, the programme will be closed for further applications.
Online Application Date For UP 2026-2027
Applications for the 2026 academic year at the University of Pretoria will open on 1 April 2025. If you are interested in studying Veterinary Science, be sure to apply by 31 May 2025. For all other undergraduate programmes, the closing date is 30 June 2025.
It is important to apply as early as possible to secure your spot, as spaces are limited and some programmes may fill up before the final deadlines.

UP Online Application Fee 2026-2027
Application fees are waived for students who apply for studies at the University of Pretoria if their household income is lower than or equal to R150,000 per annum.
Online applicants must upload proof of income in STEP 12 of the online application process. This will serve as proof of payment, to allow you to verify and apply your form. These documents will be verified.
Application Fee: When you submit your study application, you will need to pay an application fee of R300 (30 US Dollars) for 2026.
- Please note that the application fee is non-refundable.
If your household income is more than R150 000 per annum please make use of the following payment options:
- Online credit card payment is part of this application submission, i.e. by paying with a valid credit card with sufficient funds and by entering the correct details.
- Note that the online application system can only process payments that reference valid credit card (Master, Visa, American Express, or Diners Club) information, with sufficient funds.
Required Documents To Apply Online At UP 2026-2027
The following documents and information are required to apply online at the University of Pretoria for the 2026-2027 academic year;
- ID/Passport
- Grade 11 final report
- Academic results.
To use the online application system, you will need:
- internet access
- An e-mail address that you can access regularly, because as soon as you submit your online application, a student number (EMPLID) will be sent to this email address as confirmation of receipt.
How To Apply Online At University of Pretoria(UP) 2026-2027
The University of Pretoria (UP) Online Application system is very simple, easy to use, and it is accurate. On the UP online application system, it will prompt you to make changes to incorrect information.
- Start Your Application
Visit the official University of Pretoria website and head to the online application portal. Create your account and begin filling out the application form. You can select your first and second choice programmes during this step.
- Upload Your Documents
Make sure to upload all the necessary documents, such as a certified copy of your ID or passport and your latest school results. If you qualify for an application fee waiver, remember to upload proof of your household income as well.
- Pay the Application Fee
The application fee is usually R300 for South African applicants. However, if your family income is below the set threshold, you may qualify for a waiver and won’t have to pay. Just ensure you provide the required proof.
- Submit Your Application
Before submitting, review everything carefully. Once you hit submit, you won’t be able to make changes. After submission, UP will send your student number to your email as confirmation.
- Check Your Application Status
Keep logging into the UP student portal to track your application progress. If you receive an offer, follow the instructions to accept it and pay any necessary fees.
- Register for Classes
Registration usually opens in January before the academic year starts. Register early and don’t forget to attend orientation to get to know the campus and the services available to you.

- Click MyUP Login (UP Portal)
- Access your Student Centre.
Acceptance of admission
- If you have been admitted conditionally or unconditionally, please visit the MyUP Login (UP Portal)’ Student Centre’ to accept or reject the place that has been allocated to you.
