University of the Free State (UFS) Online Application Form 2025-2026 opening / closing date status

The University of the Free State (UFS) Online Application 2025-2026 Academic year will be open from 1 April 2024 to 31 August 2024 for undergraduate programmes offered at the Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa Campuses and from 1 July 2024 to 31 August 2024 for any Access Programme (AP) offered on the South Campus and the sub-regions. Applicants willing to study at UFS for 2025 must submit an online application from 1 April 2024 through the official website of the university before the closing date or deadline. Please, Keep in Mind: All programmes have limited space available so you need to apply as soon as possible to avoid embarrassment. When UFS process your application for admission in 2025, they will capture your details onto their database, if your details are not in their system or you have omitted it on your application form, you will not get admission or be able to register for your chosen qualification

The University of Free State (UFS) Needed Documents for 2025 Applications

Applicants applying to study at UFS for the 2025-2026 academic year must provide the following supporting documents:

  • An ID document if you are a South African citizen
  • International students should provide passport
  • If you are younger than 18 years, provide your parent’s ID or passport
  • Your final Grade 11 results with the school’s stamp
  • If you already have matriculated submit a National Senior Certificate (NSC) or Grade 12 IEB certificate
  • Your academic record, if only you are/were a student at another institution of higher learning

How to Apply Online at UFS Application Form 2025-2026

UFS online application form 2025 is open and active. Do you have a computer, smartphone or tablet, this is the right time for you to apply online to study at UFS for the 2025 academic year. To apply online, follow the step-by-step below:

  1. Go to UFS online application portal at 2025
  2. Read the application instructions before you proceed
  3. Fill in the form with the required details and submit your application.
  4. You will receive a student number and acknowledgment of your application
  5. If you are an Existing UFS Student, enter your student number and click on Start NEW Application to continue.
  6. UFS will review your application
  7. You will receive a conditional offer to study
  8. You need to source and secure financial support for your studies
  9. All applications will be re-evaluated after the final Grade 12 results are released in January 2024
  10. If your evaluation is good, you will receive a final offer
  11. You will be asked to complete the online acceptance process for the offer within the prescribed period
  12. If you fail to do so, the offer will be withdrawn, and you will miss your space
  13. After that, pay the prescribed first payment before registration

Applicants willing to study at UFS must comply with the following minimum admission requirements for the 2025 academic year. All admission requirements are subject to change without prior notification so be aware of this!

  • A level 4 (50%) is required for English Home Language or English First Additional Language
  • You must have a minimum AP of 32 for all BSc programmes, except programmes in Geology;
  • Have a performance level of 5 (60%) in Mathematics, unless stated otherwise; and
  • Have both Life Sciences and Physical Sciences on Level 5 (60%) for all BSc programmes,
