Virginia Tech Academic Calendar Fall 2025

• Virginia Tech Fall 2025 Classes Begin August 25, 2025
• The last day for Virginia Tech Fall 2025 to withdraw to avoid tuition and fee charges is on August 25, 2025. Students must complete a withdrawal form. Note: You may not drop your final hours via the web.
• Labor Day for Virginia Tech Fall 2025 (No Classes – University Offices Closed) on September 1, 2025
• The last day to change the grade option from A-F to P/F for Fall 2025 is October 7 2025 by 5:00 p.m. Contact the Office of the University Registrar to process a change to grade mode.
• Virginia Tech Fall Break (No Classes – University Offices Open) is to be determined
• Virginia Tech Fall 2025 last day that students can leave without losing a grade. The academic dean of the undergraduate student’s college or dean of the graduate school is the first and required contact for resignation. On October 27, by 5:00 p.m., turn in your completed resignation form to the university’s registrar’s office. You cannot withdraw your final hours for the semester if you are only enrolled in one course and must resign from the university. Your return will be determined by the university’s resignation refund policy.
• The last day to change the grade option from P/F to A-F for Fall 2025 is on October 27 by 5:00 p.m. Contact the Office of the University Registrar to process a change to grade mode.
• Virginia Tech Last day to apply for Fall graduation to have your name appear in the Commencement program and to update your diploma mailing address begins on November 11, 2025/Virginia Tech schedule 2025
• Virginia Tech’s Deadline for undergraduates to request rescheduling of final examinations that conflict with or constitute the third exam in 24 hours is November 19, 2025. (See your Academic Dean)
• Thanksgiving break for Virginia Tech Fall 2025 begins November 22, 2025
• Thanksgiving break for Virginia Tech Fall 2025 ends November 30, 2025
• The last day to apply for Virginia Tech Fall 2025 W grade policy start December 10, 2025
• Virginia Tech Fall 2025 Classes End December 10, 2025
• Virginia Tech Fall 2025 Reading Day begins December 11, 2025
• Virginia Tech Beginning of Fall Semester final examinations  is on December 12, 2025
• Virginia Tech Close of Fall Semester final examinations is on December 17, 2025(Inclement weather makeup is December 18)
• Virginia Tech Fall 2025 Degree Conferral Date is December 18, 2025. See commencement.vt.edu for the commencement ceremony scheduled.

Virginia Tech Academic Calendar Winter 2026

• Virginia Tech Winter 2026 Classes Begin December 26 2026(Virtual, Blended, or Winter Experience)
• The last day to add or remove courses from the Virginia Tech Winter Session (Virtual, Blended, or Winter Experience) or to withdraw to avoid paying tuition and fees is December 26, 2026. The final day to switch to P/F or A-F grading mode is 5:00 p.m. You cannot submit your last hours via the Internet.
• Virginia Tech Winter 2026 Classes begin January 2, 2026(Residential-Blacksburg)
• Virginia Tech’s final day for Winter Session (Residential-Blacksburg) students are to add or remove courses or withdraw without incurring tuition and fee costs starting January 2. • Virginia Tech Winter 2026 Last day to resign without grade penalty begins January 5, 2026
• Virginia Tech Winter 2026 The Last day to apply for the W grade policy is January 16, 2026

• Virginia Tech Winter 2026 Exam day for the Winter Session is on January 17, 2026
• Virginia Tech Winter 2026 Degree Conferral Date begins January 17, 2026

January 20	Classes Begin
January 20	Last day for students to withdraw from Spring Semester to avoid tuition and fee charges. Students must complete a withdrawal form at the University Registrar’s Office, 250 Student Services Building if NOT attending the Spring Semester. Call 540-231-6252 for instructions if unable to visit the University Registrar’s Office in person. Note: You may not drop your final hours via the web.
March 2	Last day to change grade option from A-F to P/F by 5:00 p.m. Contact the Office of the University Registrar to process a change to grade mode.
March 7	Spring Break begins
March  15	Spring Break ends
March 31	Last day for students to resign without grade penalty. The first and required contact for resignation is the academic dean of the undergraduate student’s college or the dean of the Graduate School. Submit the completed resignation form to the University Registrar’s office by 5:00 p.m. If you are enrolled in only one course, you must resign from the university and cannot drop your final hours for the semester. Your refund will be calculated according to the university refund policy on resignations.
March 31	Last day to change grade option from P/F to A-F by 5:00 p.m. Contact the Office of the University Registrar to process a change to grade mode.

• Virginia Tech Summer 2026 Last day to withdraw to avoid tuition and fee charges. Students must complete a withdrawal form. If enrolled in multiple parts of the term, the deadline is May 26, 2026
•  Virginia Tech Summer 2026  Last day for students to web drop classes without grade penalty. If you are enrolled in only one course in all Summer Sessions, please contact the Registrar’s Office for instructions because you cannot drop your last/only class online on June 8, 2026
• Virginia Tech Summer 2026 Last day to change grade option from A to P/F by 5:00 pm. on June 8, 2026. Contact the Office of the University Registrar to process a change to grade mode.
• Virginia Tech Summer 2026 Last day for students to resign if enrolled in the respective single part of the term, without grade penalty. If enrolled in multiple parts of the term, the deadline is the date listed for S1.
