The University Of The Witwatersrand (WITS) Online Application for the 2024-2025 Academic session will be open from 1 April 2023 to 30 September 2023. As part of this application opening date, prospective applicants who want to apply to study at WITS for the 2024-2025 Academic year must submit an online application via www.wits.ac.za online application form 2024 before the deadline. WITS University will not accept any late applications for 2024.

How to Apply to WITS Online Application Form 2024-2025

The University of the Witwatersrand, WITS online application for the 2024 academic year is very simple, easy and accurate. When you make any mistake, the online application system will prompt you to make corrections to any incorrect information.

To Apply online at WITS 2024, follow the steps below

  1. Go to WITS website: www.wits.ac.za and apply for 2024
  2. Click on “Study at Wits” at the top menu of the page
  3. Choose the programme you wish to apply for, i.e an undergraduate degree or a postgraduate degree or a diploma
  4. Make sure you meet the admission requirements for your chosen qualification
  5. Scroll down and click on “Apply to Wits” at the left side of the page
  6. Then, click on the “Apply Online” button
  7. The WITS University online application portal will be open for the 2024 cycle
  8. Read the application information very carefully before you proceed
  9. Sign in to your WITS account with your Temporary ID and Password
  10. If you don’t have an account yet, click HERE to get one
  11. Fill out the form with your personal details
  12. Complete the online application with the required information
  13. Upload your supporting documents
  14. Submit your online application for review

Please, all applicants applying to study at WITS University for the 2024-2025 academic year must upload the following supporting documents during the application process:

  • A copy of your ID
  • A copy of your results for the latest school year
  • Certified Academic Transcript
  • Interim Academic Record
  • Actuarial Society Exemptions / Actuarial Society Passes
  • A copy of your Person/Student number
  • IELTS English Proficiency / Proof of English Proficiency
  • Graduation Certificate
  • Matric / Foreign School Leaving Certificate
  • Proof of Academic Completion toward Fellowship

  • All Health Sciences programmes: 30 JUNE 2023
  • Bachelor of Architecture: 30 JUNE 2023
  • Bachelor of Audiology: 30 JUNE 2023
  • Bachelor of Speech-Language Pathology: 30 JUNE 2023
  • Bachelor of Arts in Film & Television: 30 JUNE 2023
  • All other programmes: 30 SEPTEMBER 2023
  • Residence applications 30 SEPTEMBER 2023

WITS Online Application Fee 2024-2025

  • Non-refundable application fee of R100 for South African citizens
  • Non-refundable application fee for foreign citizens of R700
  • Payments are to be made before closing dates

The University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) Admission Requirements 2024-2025

Applicants planning to study at the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) must meet the following minimum admission entry requirements before he/she would be accepted into the university for the 2024-2025 academic cycle

Meeting the requirements does not guarantee a place. Final selection is made subject to the availability of places, academic results and other entry requirements where applicable.

  • National Senior Certificate (NSC), Independent Examinations Board (IEB), or South African Comprehensive Assessment Institute (SACAI) subjects
  • Applicants are required to write the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) before being considered for admission
  • A National Certificate (Vocational) Level 4 with three fundamental subjects between 60 – 69% OR three vocational subjects from the designated list between 70-79%
  • Taken English as either language of learning and teaching or as the first additional language
  • Taken Mathematics as a fundamental component
  • Achieved 70-79% for all seven subjects – in fundamental and vocational categories.
