Victoria University Fees 2025/Victoria University Fees Calculator

Tuition fees at Victoria University (VU) must be paid upfront each semester if you are an international student. Depending on the course you choose, there can also be additional materials expenses throughout your studies in addition to an administrative fee for applying to the course. At the start of each calendar year, tuition costs are indexed (raised). The foreign courses and fees list and the current international student tuition rates are both available online.

You are regarded as a full-fee paying student if you enrol in a domestic full-fee place. This indicates that the Australian government does not provide financial aid for your tuition. For each study term, you must pay the full amount for all the units you have registered for before the applicable census date.

COURSE TUITION FEES/Victoria University fees calculator

Your study level and whether you are an international or domestic student determine how much you pay for your course and what kind of price assistance you are qualified to receive.

Domestic undergraduate or postgraduate students who pursue coursework are either subsidized by the Commonwealth or pay full tuition. The maximum fees for a full-time study load are established annually and may need to be paid in full or (if qualified) deferred as a loan to be reimbursed later.

To defray study expenses, domestic Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students may be qualified for a Research Training Program (RTP) fee offset.

International students pay pre-set fees each semester in advance (indexed annually). Please get in touch with them to get an exact price quote since the fees listed on the course pages are subject to change.

FIRST TUITION FEE PAYMENT

Your International Student Written Agreement (letter of offer), which details any initial fees you’ll have to pay, will be sent to you once you’ve accepted your offer to study.

This is known as a fee deposit and consists of:

  • You must pay tuition for your first semester of classes.
  • a projection of your study’s overall tuition costs
  • Overseas Student Health Coverage throughout your study abroad period (if requested)
  • a cost estimate for the remaining supplies needed to finish the course (where applicable).

Your international student written agreement also guides how to pay this initial fee deposit.

The fees listed in your written agreement with an international student are only estimates (and are subject to approval).

Following your initial payment, you must make all additional payments by the deadline stated on your statement of account (invoice), which is accessible through MyVU.

How to apply: Applying directly to VU/Victoria University fees calculator

The majority of candidates can apply directly to VU. If you submit a straight online application to VU (via our Admissions Centre(external link)), they will send you an email to confirm receipt of your application and inform you of any extra documentation requirements.

Please explicitly identify the course you have applied for, your name, and your date of birth when sending supplementary information to VUHQ (Student Service Centre).

EXCEPTIONS TO APPLYING DIRECT

When the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC) is operational, there are a few exceptions to the direct application policy. Candidates who meet either of the following criteria ought to apply or update their choices through VTAC(external link):

  • You are a current grade twelve student, and VTAC lists the course you want to take.
  • For the current intake, you have already applied VTAC.

Applying through the VTAC/Victoria University fees calculator

If their desired program is offered, current year 12 students must apply to the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC)(external link). Applicants who are not in year 12 may also choose to apply through VTAC.
More information on the VTAC application procedure and the deadlines for submitting course preferences may be found here.

You must send your documents directly to VTAC if you applied through them. Learn how to send VTAC documentation (external link).
