NMU Online applications for 2024-2025 are now being accepted by prospective undergraduate, graduate, and international students who intend to enroll at Nelson Mandela University. The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), which is intended for graduates who are interested in teaching as a career after completing their original undergraduate qualifications, is not regarded as a postgraduate degree (e.g., AdvDip or Degree). REQUIREMENTS FOR ENTRY FOR CURRENT GRADE 12 STUDENTS
- Minimum NSC statutory requirements for diploma entry must be met.
- An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematics or Technical Mathematics requires a minimum Applicant Score of 350.
- An applicant with NSC Grade 12 Mathematical Literacy requires a minimum Applicant Score of 365.
- NSC achievement rating of at least level 45% for Mathematics or Technical Mathematics or 65% for Mathematical Literacy.
APPLICANTS WHO MATRICULATED ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Senior Certificate with at least five subjects, provided these subjects include a 1st Language passed on HG=E or SG=C and a 2nd Language passed on HG=E or SG=C.
- Must have received at least an HG=E or SG=C in mathematics.
- On the SPS rating scale used by the university, students must receive at least 27 points.

HOW TO APPLY AT NMU ONLINE APPLICATION 2024-2025
Step 1: Your application must be submitted online and include:
- a certified copy of your final Grade 11 exam results or;
- a certified copy of your most recent Grade 12 (June/Sept) exam results (no March results), or
- a certified copy of your matriculation certificate/statement of results if you have already passed Grade 12/completed schooling,
- verified copies of your diploma/degree certificates, as well as your academic transcripts and conduct certificates, if you attended another university,
- a certified copy of your ID (birth certificate if still waiting for ID),
- a certified copy of the identity document of your parent/legal guardian/surety,
- When applying or enrolling at the University, you must state whether you are dependent, in school, attending a tertiary institution, or have just graduated from high school and do not or will not have a permanent job. You must also provide written assurance from your parent or legal guardian if you are under legal guardianship.
Step 2: Since we no longer test applicants for admission, you will need to consider another qualification if your Applicant Score (AS) and subject-specific% pass grades do not meet the direct entry standards for your chosen program.

Step 6: If accepted, you will get an orientation manual and registration details in November or December.
step 7: Final acceptance is dependent on:
- The minimum entrance requirements for the program you’ve chosen are met by your final school leaving results, or
- the submission of your final academic transcript and, if you are studying somewhere else, your conduct certificate.
