Are you prepared to begin moving toward your future? Through the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Center, you must submit your application (QTAC). For all undergraduate programs, you can apply to begin in the first semester. Some courses begin in Semester 2 as well. Ready to apply? Depending on the program you’re applying for, there may be different submission requirements.
Applications are accepted all year round and for courses beginning in all three semesters. Think carefully about how you select and arrange your preferences to give yourself the best chance of receiving an offer for your selected program. There is a six-preference limit. For your highest qualifying preference, you are only entitled to receive one offer per offer round. UQ brochure
There may be more candidates than there are openings in a program with the same ATAR or selection rank. When a program has a minimum selection rank for admission, candidates are chosen using more specific criteria. Consider if you’ll be able to meet the requirements before applying for a program that has them. Read the requirements thoroughly.
To assist qualifying students with the cost of their education, the Higher Education Loan Program (HELP) offers a number of programs. Domestic undergraduate students might choose between two main programs: All undergraduate programs need you to submit your application online through QTAC.

For Semester 1, 2023
- QTAC applications open: 2 August 2023
- QTAC applications close for major offer round: 9 December 2023
- UQ offers released: between 6 October 2022 and 16 February 2023
- QTAC major offer round: 12 January 2023
- Classes start at UQ: 20 February 2023
